Skin Cancer Awareness Month

Did you know that May is Skin Cancer Awareness Month, which aims to raise awareness of the dangers of unprotected sun exposure and educate about the ways to help prevent skin cancer.
 
Is your mole changing? If in doubt check it out. Skin cancer is largely preventable, and if caught early, it's usually curable. Please see the attached information on how to check your moles/lesions.

Dementia Action Week

 

May 13th - 19th marks Dementia Action Week. As a surgery we are committed to helping our patients to live well with Dementia.
Esther Way, our Dementia Specialist is holding a drop in session from 9.30am until 12 noon on Thursday 16th May.
If you have any concerns regarding your own memory or that of a loved one, please pop in to see her for an informal chat.

St Clare Medical Centre held a fundraising event to raise money for Cornwall Air Ambulance and managed to raise a grand total of £615. A big thank you to everyone involved.

In February the Partners treated the Sunnyside staff to an afternoon at Hall for Cornwall watching Strictly Ballroom as a thank you for their hard work over the last year. Everyone really enjoyed the afternoon and the show was brilliant, a great time was had by all!

University of Exeter, College of Medicine and Health Excellence Award

Sunnyside Surgery were recently nominated by the Bachelor of Medicine and Batchelor of Surgery Medical Students and have been awarded the University of Exeter, College of Medicine and Health, Excellence and Innovation In Clinical Team Teaching Award for GP Practices. Members of the Clinical Team will be attending the awards ceremony to collect a trophy and certificate in February 2023.
